Smile! for [Colorful Updates] – 2013.09.24

It’s been such a long while! I truly apologize for not updating more than I should, but here are some of the things that I’ve been doing and some exciting events that are coming up! (:

YouTube world!

https://www.youtube.com/user/ColourMoiChic

I’ve posted up a YouTube video about a month ago that served as my 100th video! My photographer, Thomas, and I decided to create a stop motion together and because I had just spent a little over a month during the month of June in Taiwan, so I took the opportunity to expand my wardrobe with the wallet-friendly prices in Taiwan! (: Click here to watch it!

Facebook world!

https://www.facebook.com/colourmoichic

Out of all my social medias, I probably update my Facebook and my Tumblr the most. I share as much links as I can on my Facebook page of things that I find are inspiring and just things I geek out about. (ex: This animation is one of my favorite links that I’ve come across over the past few months, called “Much Better Now.”) I also post some progress pictures of the projects and designs that I work on during the time on my page as well! If you look around in my albums, you’ll see some shots of the things I’ve been working on!

Art world!

ColourMoiChic – @ Green Bliss

If you see in my Facebook albums, you’ll see that I’ve been working on a lot of T-shirt designs lately. I’m also going to be showcasing at a cafe called Green Bliss at Downtown Fullerton’s Art Walk during the month of October! The opening reception is Friday night from 6pm-9pm on October 4th, 2013. So if you’re in the area, please come and check it out! It’d be so exciting to meet you!

Also, if you have a t-shirt design in mind, feel free to email me at colourmoichic@gmail.com so that we can both create your ideal t-shirt!flyer

Well, that’s it for now! (: I hope that you found some interesting things in this post.

Smile today! (:

Smile! for [COD #48] Black and Blue Rulebreaker

P1050928

Hello smileys! (: I hope you’ve been having a wonderful summer. I apologize for not posting as much for the past months. I spent a little more than a month in Taiwan and I’ve been catching up with projects, but I’m working on some things I’ll show you all soon! (:

P1050953

You can’t wear navy blue and black together in an outfit. True or False? Absolutely false! I’ve also heard about the same thing with brown and black and that’s also absolutely false as well! I personally feel that it’s all in the textures, but I definitely think that black and blue is something that goes well together.

P1050914

While I was in Taiwan, I’ve been really interested in their different fashion styles and boy is there a lot of it. Night markets and street-side shops full of clothes are just everywhere! When I found this hat at a thrift store, I felt like I just desperately wanted to wear it with something that was inspired from men’s fashion and what is a good way to incorporate that? My answer? Suspenders! (: Adding brownie points that they’re attachable suspenders on high-waisted shorts with the cutest scallop hem! Thank you Taiwan!

Smile! for [COD #47] Bohemian Grunge

P1040331

Hello smileys! (: I hope you’ve had a relaxing weekend! This weekend, I decided to take on the grunge trend again with a hint of boho.

P1040350

In the morning, I felt rather bold and decided to wear a bandeau so that bra straps wouldn’t distract the whole image of the crop top. Probably wasn’t one of my best ideas to be completely honest because I had to pull up the bandeau a lot because I’m a little small, but I did like the overall look of the outfit. Next time, I’ll either wear a bikini top or simply acquire a smaller bandeau that hopefully fits me. This is assuming of course I ever find one that does, crossing my fingers.

P1040351

I absolutely love these shorts. I love high-waisted bottoms in general because it makes me feel just so tall and when I was little (from preschool until freshman year of high school) I always was the one who was either the shortest one in the class, or just barely the second shortest. X3

Smile! for [COD #46] Casually Branding Professionalism

P1040205

Yesterday, I attended the Blogger Bazaar in LA, and got to meet Chriselle Lim from The Chriselle Factor and Wendy Nguyen from Wendy’s Lookbook. It made me so very happy when Wendy and MM recognized me from meeting them last December at another meet up. At the meet up, I ended up buying a pair of golden wax skinny jeans from Liz Cherkasova’s AKA Late Afternoon‘s section. I’ll definitely wear them for another COD another day! (:

P1040206

For the meet up, I wanted to thank Wendy, MM and their friend David (from David Kim Photography) for advice and guidance for my website and just helping me put myself and what I want to do out there to people. So story goes that recently, I was able to finally find a blazer that fit me! I was so excited about it so I wore it on top of a shirt that I recently printed on of my own design. So, yeah! That’s how the casual, yet personal branding, and on top of all that plus professional outfit came to be. Hopefully, it looks decent. X3

P1040207

As a question for you all, if I were to print more of these shirts, would anybody be interested in them? As a struggling student, it’d be pretty helpful (and to be honest, an absolute dream come true) if people were interested in shirts that I actually designed because I think that shirts are the most affordable (efficient) art, compared to cards and paintings. So, what do you guys think?

Smile! for [COD #45] Disneybound March Challenge Day 31

P1040012Disneybound is a blog run by Leslie, a fantastically visioned individual, who posts inspirational (to say the least) outfit ideas that are inspired from Disney characters. Due to a follower who challenged herself last year to Disneybound (v. the action of dressing up in a way that is inspired from something related to Disney) every day in March, this challenge was started and I’m taking it on! (:

P1040009

Hehe, and today is the last day for the Disneybound March Challenge! (: I ended it with Stitch! (: Stitch with nerf guns! Pew pew pew!

Today, I’m Peter Pan! (: I wanted to make this Peter Pan Disneybound outfit more of a boho casual date one because I’m by the beach today! (: Also because I don’t have a green hat of sorts like the one Peter has, I’ll have to substitute that for a red ribbon in my hair to act as the red feather accent on his hat.

P1040037

While I was by the beach, I made a small ring made up of flowers that fit on my pinky. I just thought that the flowers were so white and cute. I really felt very carefree like Peter did when I was roaming around the beach area. (:

I’ve always loved Roald Dahl as a writer. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, and The BFG were all books that I really enjoyed growing up. James and the Giant Peach was one of my definite favorites, and it was even better when I watched the movie, partly because I am an absolute Tim Burton fanatic!! ❤

DSC02961

My friend really wanted me to try putting on make up for this outfit and I thought that it would be helpful to add green accents on my bottom lashline for Miss Spider’s brilliant eyes, as well as some light lavender for my eyelid. Hopefully, it translates decently.

DSC02966

To be honest, I never thought that I would wear my black thigh high boots for an everyday outfit. I had only acquired them for cosplaying purposes, but I thought that they fit with the outfit so well that I wore them anyway. What do you think?

Today, I was trying to piece together an outfit that was a more casual date outfit of Cinderella. Despite, Cinderella’s glittering blue ballgown, I really wanted to channel her outfit from before she became beautified by her fairy god mother. Maybe, I’m waiting for my own fairy godmother to help me out with a love life too? Haha. P:

P1030932

These silver heels really do mean so much to me. It’s partly because I wore them to my Prom back in high school and because I was really excited when I found them at this shoe store at West Cover Mall called Parbella. It’s next to Macy’s on the first floor and I absolutely fell in love with them. They’re comfortable and they have my size! Haha, it’s very important to me when a shoe store carries my size because I have such small feet! X3 I even have a black pair!
