Disneybound is a blog run by Leslie, a fantastically visioned individual, who posts inspirational (to say the least) outfit ideas that are inspired from Disney characters. Due to a follower who challenged herself last year to Disneybound (v. the action of dressing up in a way that is inspired from something related to Disney) every day in March, this challenge was started and I’m taking it on! (:
These photos were actually taken at a benefit show that I was showcasing art pieces in. After setting up, Thomas and I had some time to take some shots against the wonderfully colorful walls. The show took place at a venue with skateboard ramps and bowls called Unit B Studio.
For this outfit, I tried to channel the character Mulan because I was just so nervous! Mulan’s character I feel represents courage extremely well and sticking to her beliefs and what she thinks is right. Considering how it was my first showcasing outside of a school environment, I felt it definitely wouldn’t hurt to try to dress the part.
For this outfit, the light green “dress” is actually just a shirt that happens to be long enough on me to be a short dress, although it was a little too short of a “dress” for my liking, so I wore black shorts underneath for my own peace of mind. The “belt” is also an imposter as well! (cue the laugh out loud acronym) It’s actually a cardigan that I’ve wrapped around my waist to look like it’s draping in the front.
Shoes = hand me down black flat boots
